Terms of use

Draft for review by a lawyer before launch. Items in square brackets need an answer.

These terms apply to the Airmass app and airmass.us. By using them you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to the app. Airmass is published by Nick Jenkins, doing business as Jenkins Aero, 2150 Pecho Rd., Los Osos, CA 93402.

What Airmass is

Airmass is a records tool. It reads the records you enter against the regulations and your aircraft’s operating limitations, and reports what the records show. It drafts logbook entries for you to check and sign.

What Airmass is not

  • It does not inspect the aircraft and does not decide whether it is airworthy. The owner or operator is responsible for maintaining the aircraft in an airworthy condition (14 CFR 91.403), and the pilot in command decides if it is in a condition for safe flight (14 CFR 91.7).
  • It does not sign anything. The person who signs an entry is responsible for it.
  • It is not approved by or affiliated with the FAA.

Your responsibilities

  • Enter records accurately and check every generated entry and transcription before you rely on it.
  • Keep the signed records the regulations require. Airmass prints them for you; keep the signed pages.
  • Confirm every AD or bulletin match before you record compliance.

Your data

Your records belong to you. They are stored on your devices and in your own iCloud, as the privacy policy explains. If your subscription ends, everything you entered stays available to open, print and export. You cannot add new records, and the rules stay at the edition in force on the day it ended.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple, renew automatically until you cancel, and can be managed or cancelled in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.

Beta software

TestFlight builds are test versions. They may have errors, may lose data, and stop working after 90 days. Do not rely on a beta build as your only copy of your records.

Limits of liability

[Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability, to be written by your lawyer.]
