Privacy policy

Draft for review. Items in square brackets need an answer before this page goes live or the app goes to App Review.

Short version: Airmass has no accounts and no advertising. Your aircraft records stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. We cannot see them.

This policy covers the Airmass app and the airmass.us website. Airmass is published by Nick Jenkins, doing business as Jenkins Aero, 2150 Pecho Rd., Los Osos, CA 93402.

Your aircraft records

Your entries, scans, documents, equipment and meter readings are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, Apple keeps a copy in your own private iCloud database so your devices stay in sync. That copy is protected by your Apple Account. We have no access to it.

Sync is optional. If you turn it off, or are not signed in to iCloud, your records stay only on that one device, and the app warns you that they are not backed up.

What the app sends to us

Nothing. Once a day the app downloads the FAA’s list of safety bulletins from airmass.us as one file, with no information about you or your aircraft, and matches it on your device. [Cloudflare, which hosts the file, keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, for a short time for security.]

What the app sends to others

When you enter an N-number during setup, the app looks it up directly in the FAA’s public aircraft registry, which returns the make, model, serial number and registered owner. The app also downloads airworthiness directives from the Federal Register and manufacturers’ public service bulletin pages. It does not send your records to any of these sites.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold by Apple. Apple handles your payment details; we see only anonymous sales reports.

What we do not do

  • No Airmass account, so there is no account to delete.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking in the app. [If crash reporting is added later, this policy and the App Store privacy label change first.]
  • We do not sell or share your data.

The beta signup form

When you join the beta on this website, we keep your name, email address, the aircraft details you enter and the date. We use them only to send your TestFlight invitation and beta news. They are stored with Cloudflare. Ask us and we delete them.

This website

The website sets no cookies for tracking or advertising. [Cloudflare Web Analytics, if turned on, counts visits without cookies.]

Children

Airmass is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
